Dr. TJ Citta is a board-certified Physiatrist specializing in Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Born in Philadelphia, Dr. Citta was raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She attended Villanova University for her undergraduate studies earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. While there, she was a nationally ranked synchronized swimmer and pursued her interest in exercise science as well. Following her graduation from Villanova, her passion for Sports Medicine led to advanced studies in Exercise Physiology at Temple University. While studying at Temple, Dr. Citta designed and implemented a program for fitness for the elderly called, “Fitness Forever,” which was incorporated into numerous area nursing homes and senior centers. In 1986, Dr. Citta graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then interned at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In 1990, she completed the Residency Program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital which led to her earning a Fellowship in Pediatric Rehabilitation at A.I Dupont Hospital for Children, Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Citta is a noted published author in this field. In 1991, she was named Director of the Program of Pediatric Rehabilitation at Health Hill Hospital for Children (now the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital) in Cleveland, Ohio. While there, she was instrumental in advocating for the rights of disabled children and their families through the creation of the PEACE (People Empowered Against Child Endangerment) Program. From 1990-2017, Dr. Citta also held a faculty position as Clinical Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. In 2001, Dr. Citta returned to the Philadelphia area, where she joined the faculty of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA, as Clinical Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine, specializing in treating patients who suffered from neuromuscular disorders and traumatic brain injury at A.I DuPont Hospital for Children. She was instrumental in opening the Rehabilitation Hospital of South Jersey in Vineland, NJ. In 2004, she founded New Life Rehab Medicine, PC in Haddonfield, NJ strengthening her expertise in Electrodiagnostic Medicine where she continues to act as Medical Director and CEO. And in 2009, Dr. Citta joined the staff of Regional Orthopedics where she continues to expand her reach as an electrodiagnostic specialist. She is affiliated with Virtua Health Systems. Other areas of specialization include Neuromuscular Medicine and Brain Injury Rehabilitation. Dr. Citta is a past committee member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has been an ardent supporter of the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.

She was named Top Doc, South Jersey Magazine 2022 and Top Doctor, NJ Top Docs 2022.
